The Käte Hamburger Kolleg: Cultures of Research (c:o/re) is an international center for advanced studies for history, philosophy, and sociology of science and technology at RWTH Aachen University. It is funded by the German Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space. The center invites applications from scholars from the humanities and social sciences, as well as from natural, life, and technical sciences. The focus of the center’s work is on the manifold research cultures within the sciences, their commonalities and differences, and how they are transformed through interdisciplinary discourse.

his conference invites researchers from across the natural and social sciences, engineering, and the humanities, as well as scholars and practitioners engaged in inter- and transdisciplinary research, to critically examine the role of technology in shaping sustainability. We will explore how technological systems — past, present, and emerging — have the potential to both sustain and undermine well-being and life on Earth for humans and non-humans.

The SOR4D Research Conference 2026, which will take place from 31 August to 1 September 2026 in Bern, Switzerland, convenes researchers, practitioners and development professionals to address the theme “Advancing Transdisciplinary Research for Global Development: Crisis, Collaboration, and Change.”

Interdisciplinary integration is the combination of knowledge from different disciplines. It is the primary methodology of interdisciplinarity, in Julie Klein’s words, and the gist of the integrationist consensus in interdisciplinary studies. In recent years, important work has been done to reveal underpinnings, dimensions, and conditions for interdisciplinary integration. However, the literature is ripe with reviews that classify integrative frameworks and techniques but do little to advance comprehensive thinking.

The European Partnership on Transforming Health and Care Systems (THCS) is launching its 4th Joint Transnational Call for proposals aimed at promoting equitable access to and utilisation of health and care services across Europe.

How can transdisciplinary research move from conceptual debate to real societal impact? This collection invites contributions that explore how collaboration across disciplines, sectors, and knowledge systems fosters transformative change. We welcome papers that critically reflect on the practices, methods, and politics of doing transdisciplinary research—its promises, challenges, and implications for knowledge co-production and societal transformation.

The University of Zurich Fellowship in Crisis Competence is a short-term research opportunity at the Universi-ty of Zurich. The Fellowship is part of the transdisciplinary project Agora – Urban Crisis Competence, co-lead by the City of Zurich and the Center for Crisis Competence at the University of Zurich and financed by the Merca-tor Foundation Switzerland. The Agora is a platform for dialogue between researchers and senior staff of the City of Zurich with the goal to improve the crisis competencies of the city based on current research and to inspire novel research questions.
