Ziel des Forschungsbereichs ist, einen Beitrag zur Lösung komplexer ernährungsassoziierter Probleme und zur Transformation hin zu nachhaltigeren Ernährungssystemen zu leisten. Um Wege vom Wissen zum Handeln zu ermöglichen, die das Verständnis für komplexe Systeme erhöhen und Veränderungsprozesse für Verhalten und Strukturen fördern, braucht es u. a. transdisziplinäre Forschung. Sie werden Teil eines interdisziplinär aufgestellten Teams und arbeiten mit Wissenschaftler:innen u. a. aus den Bereichen Systemwissenschaften, Transformation und Transdisziplinarität, Innovation und Ernährungsverhaltensforschung zusammen.

The successful candidate(s) will work on the role of genetic factors in shaping health inequalities, and/or they will develop novel techniques for leveraging genetic data. We are also open to applicants interested in the other research themes of the Center (family and health, health inequalities in an international perspective), and in other topics covered in the Department Social Demography at the Max Planck Institute for Demographic Research (MPIDR), including fertility, mortality and morbidity, and labor markets.

This postdoctoral position is part of the ERC-funded project LEVER (Our sustainabLe futurE, the ValuEs that dRive it, and how to get there), led by Andra Milcu. The project envisions a reframing of knowledge production in support of sustainability transformation, aiming to bridge knowledge, people, and action. LEVER develops and applies both the theory and practice of conducting research that purposefully supports sustainability transformations, with a particular focus on understanding and activating sustainability-aligned values as leverage points. The successful candidate will join a growing and dynamic research team connected to an international network of researchers

Sie bauen die neue Forschungsgruppe “Sozial-ökologische Transformation” auf und leiten diese wissenschaftlich und administrativ. Sie forschen zum Themenbereich sozial-ökologische Transformation in Bezug auf WSL-Kernthemen sowie auf Schwerpunktthemen der WSL-Strategie 2035. Je nach Themenstellung arbeiten Sie inter- und transdisziplinär mit Kollegen und Kolleginnen aus den Sozial- und Naturwissenschaften und aus der Praxis.
